New Walmart Fall Decor Finds for a Cozy, Collected Home

Walmart Fall Decor Is Getting So Good

One thing I noticed immediately while walking through the aisles was how warm and collected everything felt. There were plenty of traditional pumpkins and obvious fall decor, but there were also beautiful pieces in warm browns, creams, muted greens and natural textures that could stay out well beyond the season.

That's always what I'm looking for. I want my house to feel like fall without necessarily having a pumpkin on every surface.

Tortoiseshell Glass Pumpkin Jar Candle

Okay, these were one of the first things that caught my eye, the beautiful pattern and color gives you that fall color without feeling overly themed. They're perfect for styling on a console, bookshelf, kitchen counter or coffee table.

I especially love seasonal decor like this because the glass adds another texture to a room while still working beautifully with a neutral color palette. I styled mine on my dining table as a simple centerpiece! The “Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Swirl” scent smells amazing and just as you would imagine it to smell!

Decorative Bowls & Trays

One of my favorite finds wasn't technically fall decor at all, a beautiful decorative bowl or tray gives you a foundation that you can restyle throughout the year.

For fall, fill it with seasonal stems, pinecones, decorative objects or even a few small pumpkins. Once fall is over, simply swap those pieces out.

That's the kind of timeless decor I love buying because it doesn't have an expiration date.

The Coziest, Fall Candles

Fall decorating isn't only about what your home looks like. It's also about how it feels and smells. I spotted several candles in gorgeous amber and warm-toned vessels that look like decor on their own.

This is such an easy little styling trick: choose candles in containers that coordinate with your decor, and suddenly something functional becomes part of the vignette. Plus, nothing says fall quite like lighting a candle once the evenings start getting cooler.

Small Lamps = Instant Cozy

If you know me at all, you know I love a lamp, especially a rechargeable one with no plug!!

One of my favorite ways to make a home feel cozy — especially heading into fall — is to turn off some of that overhead lighting and add smaller pools of warm light throughout the room. I found the cutest little lamp during this Walmart trip that would be perfect for a kitchen counter, bookshelf or console or anywhere you need a touch of cozy!

A tiny lamp may not scream "fall decor," but that warm glow completely changes the feeling of a space as we move into the cozier months.

Don't Skip the Everyday Decor

This may be my biggest takeaway from my Walmart fall shopping trip! Don't limit yourself to the seasonal aisle. Some of my favorite "fall" finds were actually everyday home pieces.

This season, be on the look out for:

  • Warm wood tones

  • Amber glass

  • Aged or antique-looking finishes

  • Cream ceramics

  • Muted greens

  • Woven textures

  • Warm brown textiles

  • Soft lighting

Layering those elements into your existing home can create a cozy fall feeling without making your house look overly seasonal.

How I'm Decorating for Fall This Year

I'm definitely leaning toward a warm, collected and understated look this fall. I'll be mixing a few obvious seasonal pieces — like pumpkins — with decor that simply brings in the colors and textures of the season. Think warm brown glass, natural wood, creamy ceramics, cozy textiles and lots of soft lighting.

It's fall decorating that still feels like your home.

And as a busy mom, I also appreciate not having to completely redecorate, pack up everything, just to bring them back out a few months later.

I’ve rounded up all of my favorites from what I saw in-store, what’s available online and some of my favs that came home with me!

Final Thoughts

You don't need to completely transform your house to make it feel cozy for fall. Start with what you already have and add a few layers: warmer colors, natural textures, soft lighting and one or two seasonal touches. Those small changes can completely shift the feeling of a room and they're much easier to live with throughout the season.

I'll keep sharing my favorite affordable fall finds as I spot them, along with plenty of attainable ways to make your house feel more like home 🤎
